JACKSONVILLE Womens Marcell Dareus Jersey , Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars have to find more options for rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew.Chris Conley? Dede Westbrook? Maybe rookie tight end Josh Oliver?New Orleans clamped down on burgeoning receiver DJ Chark in its 13-6 victory at Jacksonville on Sunday, and the Jaguars failed to adjust to the Saints’ two-man scheme. The Saints bracketed Chark, who entered the game as the AFC’s leading receiver, and played man-to-man coverage everywhere else. They kept Minshew in the pocket and gambled that Jacksonville wouldn’t be able to win one-on-one matchups or exploit the middle of the field. The Jaguars (2-4) looked lost most of the game, managing 11 first downs, a season-low 226 yards and just two field goals. It could serve as a blueprint on how to defend Jacksonville as well as a wake-up call for the Jaguars , who play at winless Cincinnati (0-6) this Sunday.“I’ll take full responsibility for that in my room,” Conley said. “We have to be ready for that. We can’t blink. We can’t hesitate. We have to play fast. We didn’t play fast enough for (Minshew). We didn’t get open fast enough.”Minshew completed 14 of 29 passes for 163 yards and an interception, his worst outing since replacing Nick Foles (broken collarbone) in the season opener.Chark finished with three receptions for 43 yards. Conley was held without a catch for the first time this season. Westbrook caught three passes for 53 yards.“We’ve got to do a good job of scheming things up and getting guys open,” coach Doug Marrone said. “That’s where it comes down to us.”WHAT’S WORKINGLeonard Fournette had 118 yards from scrimmage, grinding out yards on the ground and in the air. He ran 20 times for 72 yards and had six receptions for 46 yards. He failed to break a long run for the first time in four games.Marrone blamed the team’s third-down woes (4 of 14) for Fournette not getting more touches.“It’s very difficult to get a run-game going when you’re not making third downs,” he said.WHAT NEEDS HELPThe tight end position.Jacksonville already lost James O’Shaughnessy (knee) for the season and could be without Geoff Swaim (concussion) for several weeks. The team signed Ben Koyack off the street last week and has Seth DeValve, but it’s clear the Jags need Oliver to get healthy.Oliver, a third-round draft pick out of San Jose State, suffered a “significant” hamstring injury during practice on Aug. 1. He returned to practice late last month but has yet to make his NFL debut.STOCK UPLinebacker Najee Goode made his first start with Jacksonville and played well. He finished with six tackles, including a sack Josh Lambo Jersey , as the Jags allowed 104 yards rushing.Goode replaced benched rookie Quincy Williams in the fourth quarter at Carolina last week. Jacksonville surrendered 285 yards rushing to the Panthers, the second most in the franchise history, and Williams was blamed for many of the defense’s gap-integrity issues.STOCK DOWNMinshew Mania has been silenced, at least for a week.Minshew’s struggles came on the same day the Jaguars, in conjunction with the NFL, handed out more than 30,000 “Minshew mustaches” at the gates. It also came with a large number of people from his hometown — Brandon, Mississippi — on hand for the “Brandon Bowl.”Minshew and Saints linebacker Demario Davis both graduated from Brandon High School and are two of four NFL players from the town just east of Jackson.Minshew and Davis exchanged a hug and jerseys after the game.INJUREDReceiver Marqise Lee, who missed all of last season after tearing three ligaments in his left knee, injured his right foot in the third quarter and had to be helped to the locker room.KEY NUMBER51.4 — Minshew’s QB rating. It was more than double that over his first five games.NEXT STEPSIt might be time to put disgruntled cornerback Jalen Ramsey on injured reserve. John DeFilippo got his first NFL job working for Tom Coughlin, serving as a quality control coach for the New York Giants in 2005-06.Fourteen years later, and with a resume that includes tutoring Mark Sanchez and Carson Wentz as rookies and winning a Super Bowl with backup Nick Foles, DeFilippo has returned to Coughlin’s regime. The Jaguars hired the former Minnesota offensive coordinator to the same position Wednesday, hoping he can help revitalize one of the league’s least-productive offenses.Coach Doug Marrone announced the addition of DeFilippo along with five other assistant coaches. DeFilippo replaces Nathaniel Hackett, who was fired in late November and landed in Green Bay.The Vikings parted way with the 40-year-old DeFilippo in mid-December, reportedly for failing to commit to the run ground game. DeFilippo spent less than a year in Minnesota. The Vikings hired him after two seasons in Philadelphia http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-taven-bryan-jersey , where he was praised for his work as quarterbacks coach with Foles and Wentz. DeFilippo had one previous NFL stint as an offensive coordinator, in Cleveland in 2015.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJets’ Darnold throws 3 more picks in 29-15 loss at JaguarsRams get CB Jalen Ramsey from Jaguars for 3 draft picksBridgewater now 4-0 as starter after Saints top Jaguars 13-6Jaguars once elite defense struggles as Gardner Minshew, DJ Chark build chemistryLeonard Fournette runs for career-high as Jaguars mount comeback to beat Broncos“High energy on field, a tough football coach, going to hold people accountable,” Marrone said.DeFilippo will be tasked with improving an offense that ranked 27th in yards and 31st in points in 2018. He also could play a role in developing the team’s next quarterback, something he did with Sanchez, Wentz, Foles, Oakland’s Derek Carr and even Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins. The Jaguars have failed repeatedly to find a long-term solution at the all-important position, coming up short with Byron Leftwich, David Garrard, Blaine Gabbert and Blake Bortles. The Jags are expected to move on from Bortles before March, draft a quarterback and sign a veteran to potentially start until the rookie is ready.Marrone said DeFilippo’s relationship with Foles had nothing to do with the hiring. Still, adding DeFilippo surely will raise questions about Foles ending up in Jacksonville. The Eagles must decide by mid-February if they want to exercise a $20 million option to keep Foles in 2019. Foles could decline it and pay back $2 million to become a free agent. Philadelphia also could place a franchise tag on Foles and try to trade the former Super Bowl MVP.Marrone also interviewed former Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, former Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Todd Monken and former Arizona offensive coordinator Mike McCoy to become the team’s sixth offensive coordinator in the last nine years.Jacksonville also hired Terry Robiskie as running backs coach Womens Justin Blackmon Jersey , Tim Walton as cornerbacks coach and George Warhop as offensive line coach, and promoted assistant defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich to defensive line coach and assistant secondary coach Joe Danna to safeties coach.Marrone fired running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley, secondary coach Perry Fewell, offensive line coach Pat Flaherty and defensive line coach Marion Hobby a day after the regular season ended.Of all the new hires, Robiskie is the most interesting. The 64-year-old Robiskie was born and raised in New Orleans and attended LSU, giving him a background similar to starting running back Leonard Fournette. The Jaguars have struggled to get through to Fournette, the fourth overall pick in the 2017 draft who has been suspended, fined and benched. He has been repeatedly late for meetings and was admittedly out of shape last season.Following his one-week suspension in November, the Jaguars voided the remaining guarantees in Fournette’s four-year rookie contract worth $27.1 million. It could cost him up to $7.1 million.Marrone, general manager Dave Caldwell and top executive Coughlin would prefer to see Fournette become a better pro, and Robiskie could be instrumental in helping him get on track.“I don’t know if Leonard even knew (Robiskie) played in New Orleans,” Marrone said. “That’s something that’ll be with the two of them.”Marrone said he and Fournette had a long meeting last week that hopefully will get them on the same page.“We just talked (about) where we’re going, where we want to go, what we want to do and set out a plan,” Marrone said. “I feel good about it.”
